ECOLOGICAL HARMONY

The Bioplanning Institute urgently seeks support to initiate a groundbreaking approach to urban development, emphasizing social and ecological harmony. We are doubling the volumetric mass of the cities in the next 20 years. Our mission is to address the critical challenge of accommodating an additional 2.5 billion people in urban areas within the next few decades.

Creating a Conflict-Concious Environment in Every Sense

Projected urban population:

+1.6 million people a week

in the next 20 years

Rapid urbanization, climate change, and conflicts present unprecedented challenges to environmental sustainability, public health, and social cohesion.

196 million hectares* of trees to account for 1 year of world's emissions

*Roughly the size of Mexico

Bioplanning Approach: Cellular Cities Off The Grid

Bioplanning approach prioritizes social and ecological harmony in future cities. Developed with esteemed members and organizations, this approach integrates biomimicry and regenerative practices to address urban challenges. Central to our approach is the cellular structure model, which places nature at the center of urban design. Learn more.

The Future Goals
Certification
System

Following the conclusion of the feasibility studies, the ultimate goal of The Bioplanning Institute will be developing a robust certification system for bioplanned projects, similar to LEED but focused on urban planning. This system will incorporate key metrics from six research categories and serve as a benchmark for future urban developments. The certification will ensure adherence to the highest standards of sustainability and social harmony, providing a framework for cities worldwide to achieve ecological and social resilience.

Bioplanning AI

Bioplanning AI is a digital twin designed for conducting Comparative Feasibility Studies in future urban development. This tool utilizes computational technologies to create digital bioplanning communities, allowing for the precise measurement and analysis of key metrics. These metrics will be developed during initial feasibility studies in collaboration with top researchers.

Expertise

We are getting support for the Comparative Feasibility Study from researchers from UPenn, UC Berkeley, MIT, Cornell, The New School. Besides that, meet Founding Members of The Bioplanning Institute:
